Doc's Research Featured in New Issue of Golf Digest

The new issue of Golf Digest hits newsstands this week and one of the major articles Why You Miss Greens, Our 2-Step Strategy. The article has been in the works for nearly two years and required months of research by Dr. Suttie with assistance from the researchers at TrackMan – a world-class piece of data collection technology that Doc has available everyday at his academy. (Give him a call to find out how you can have your swing analyzed on TrackMan, too.)

The article details the fact that most golfers simply can't control the distances they hit their approach shots and that the reasons for this are a combination of swing issues and equipment that only makes the situation worse. Something that Doc has known for decades that separates each level of player from the one below it, is the ability to create better distance control throughout the bag.

In the article, Doc offers up a variety of drills that will help you make more solid contact, which is a big part of the problem. The equipment gurus at Golf Digest also weigh in with equipment tips that can help improve your results from that side of the equation too.

Wilson has been a student of Suttie's for years. The win was worth $630,000.

Roberts Nabs First Win of 2009

NAPLES, Fla. -- Earlier in the week Loren Roberts was working hard on the range at the Jim Suttie Academy at The Club at TwinEagles with Doc Suttie analysing his every motion trying to get Roberts back to his winning form of recent years. By Sunday afternoon Roberts was thrusting both arms toward the sky, and letting out some emotion. He knew he earned his ninth career victory on the Champions Tour and first of 2009.
Roberts made a 3-foot birdie putt on the last hole to win The ACE Group Classic on Sunday, beating Gene Jones by one stroke.
Roberts shot a 68 to finish at 7-under 209. Jones, who led by a shot coming into the final round, put up a 70.
He won $240,000 out of the $1.6 million purse.
